Polyhedral Die

A rollable die with discrete numbered or labeled faces such as a coin, d6, or d20.

What a polyhedral die is

A polyhedral die is the standard die kind. Coins and dN dice are variants of this same kind, not separate runtime families.

How the system uses polyhedral dice

  • the system stores polyhedral dice with a die kind of polyhedral
  • side count determines the available face range
  • face labels and markup can customize what each side shows
  • markup drawn on one face of an imported die changes only that face: the other faces keep showing the game's art, and clearing a face's markup brings the game's art back to it
  • the Labels tab edits every face, including faces that carry artwork; those faces show a thumbnail next to their text, and the text sits behind the art
  • roll actions resolve to one face value at a time
